I was reading through this month's Creating Keepsakes magazine and saw this cool site in there (you need to scroll down to find the link to the color generator). It allows you to upload a picture and from that it will give you a color pallette that will work with it.
I tried it out and thought it was really cool. It gives three different "options" of five colors that go well together and go well with the picture too. I think that I'm going to need to try this site out for my next layout.

A bit of the party
Here's a little peek of what I did for the party. As I mentioned it was farm/tractor themed. I'll be sharing bits over the next few days with links, files or directions of what I did for you!
Since I'm tired, I'll just share the invite I made. I actually found this file already online at Create Cricut Designs
It was the perfect file, so the only thing I did to "modify" it was not include the driver. I wrote the info on the back of the invite and off they went! I also made pink ones for the girls.

A Sneak Peek
I've been working like crazy for the past two weeks on my son's birthday party! It's this coming week so soon I'll have more to share with you, but here's a little sneak peek of what's to come. He chose tractors as his theme and I expanded it a bit to a farm theme. These are what I did for the treat bags and though that they turned out cute! And they were easy and cheap to do!
I hope you enjoyed...and there's much more to come! I'll be sharing soon!

Decorating and Signs!
Lately it seems that all I've been doing is making things for my son's upcoming birthday party and honestly I became bored with doing the same thing over and over. So I took a step back and decided to finally finish decorating his room! He chose awhile back a truck/car theme, so we went out right away, bought him the sheets for the bed and then started looking for some accents. Well, I personally found it hard to find exactly what I had envisioned, so that went on the back burner.
I had picked up these cute truck decorations for the wall, but since they have hooks on them, I wasn't sure what to do. Since he's not quite three yet, I didn't want to hang things on them. But then I got the idea to put signs on there. Instead of spending endless hours search the good ole internet trying to find my vision, I decided to stop wasting time and make these on the cricut. And I have to admit, I'm pretty happy with the way they've turned out!
I started out by searching the internet briefly to chose the signs I wanted and then got right to making the svg files. They weren't too difficult to make and were done that night. He was so excited to see them hanging in his room the next day when he got home from preschool.
I thought that I would share the files for these with you! I hope you enjoy!

Going Back to School!
My oldest is going back to preschool tomorrow so I thought I would make him a little note to put into his lunch box. Of course it couldn't just be written on a plain piece of paper, so I pulled out my cricut and found a SVG image that I liked.
I forget where I found this image, but it was a free one online (that or I made it from a coloring page...sorry, I forget!) But I thought that this would be perfect little "note" for him. His favorite color is green and he loves to color so it fits him perfectly.
On the back I figured I would just put a simple statement since the little guy is only 3! Something that he could understand, so again I used the cricut to make this simple, I love you!
The font is Wish I Were Taller from Kevin and Amanda
I love this site for a lot of free fonts that are great for using on the cricut of digital scrapping!

Note to the Teacher
With school starting up again, I wanted to send a little note to my son's preschool teacher on the first day of school. Nothing's more perfect than an apple for the teacher! I recently purchased the Grandpa's Organic Farm SVG Collection from SVG Cuts for another project that I'm working on and thought that this apple in the set would be perfect.
In order to make it into a card, I copied the base layer in MTC and then transformed it into the mirror image. Then I chose to weld them along the leaf and the side of the apple and I had the base of my card! Just a few cuts later of the leaf (BOBUNNY- Clover Dot), the stem (My Mind's Eye- Dark Brown Polka Dots) and the Apple (red texture) and my apple was complete!
FYI- The cutting file does not make the leaf and stem separately like I have here. All I did was to cut the form out of each color and then cancel the cutting after the piece I was looking for was complete in order to save paper.
I added the ribbon around the stem (I had to cut behind the red layer on the form to slip the ribbon closer to the stem) and I think that it's a pretty cute note to the teacher!

Starting Out
Okay, so I will be the first to admit that I am not super creative. I often get inspiration from ideas I've seen from others, but I love to browse the web to find some cute ideas that I can do to make scrapbook pages, cards and other crafts. So I figured that I would jump on the bandwagon and make my own blog sharing my creations.
One of my pet peeves from some (not all, but many) of the sites is that I can never quite seem to duplicate what tey have. I love to use the same papers, color schemes and cutting files, but they are at times hard to find. So I am going to try my best to make sure to list my supplies and link to the websites that I found files on or share files that I made. I figure if I spend all this time searching and making things, that I should share so you can do it without all the hassle!
Since I got my cricut over a year ago, I use it for all my scrap layouts, cards and have even been using them to make decorations for my children's birthday parties. I have found it so addicting! And even more so since I got Make the Cut. This program has allowed me to find and make svg files so I can make just about anything my heart desires! I tried scrapping without it and was lost!
So I hope you enjoy my little corner of the web and are inspired by my work. I'd love to hear from you so comment away and suggestions are always welcome too!
